Who is on the Board?

Cathedral Grammar is governed by a Board of Trustees, the members of which are appointed by the Dean and Chapter of the Christchurch Anglican Cathedral. There are currently 10 members of the Board:




 

Mr Hans van Schreven LLB. (Acting Chair)
Hans is a partner in the law firm Clark Boyce.  Hans is an old boy of the School and is the Grammarians’ representative on the Board.  Hans has been a member of the Board since February 2005.

 

Ms Carol Bellette MBA (Dist.), B.Com.  
Carol is Chief Financial Officer for Landcare Research.  She is a Friend's representative on the Board and joined the Board in May 2013. Carol has a son at Cathedral Grammar.

 

 
Mr Roger Dennis B.A., B.Sc
Roger works in the continuum between foresight, strategy and innovation. From 2006-2008 he co-led the Shell Technology Futures programme for the GameChanger team in The Hague, is a core team for Future Agenda - the world’s largest foresight programme - and has worked across a range of industries. His thinking has been referenced in numerous publications including the FT and Scientific American. Roger is a frequent speaker at events around the world, and last year presented on cities, data and climate change at the Nobel Laureate Symposium in Hong Kong.  He joined the Board in May 2013 and has three children at Cathedral Grammar. 

 

The Very Rev Lawrence Kimberley
Lawrence is the Dean of Christchurch Cathedral and is Chapter Representative on the Board. Lawrence joined the Board in January 2016. 

 

 

Mr Andrew M Oorschot B.Com., CA(PP), CMA
Andrew is the managing partner of Ashton Wheelans Chartered Accountants, specialising in business advisory and insolvency work.  Andrew has been a member of the Board since 2004.  He has had four children attended Cathedral Grammar. 

 

 
Mr Humphry Rolleston
Humphry is a Christchurch businessman on the board of a number of private and public companies.  He is a former member of the Cathedral Grammar School Board, an old boy of the School and is the chair of the Cathedral Foundation.  Humphry rejoined the Board in June 2011.

 
Mrs Amelia Simpson BA, LLB.
Amelia is a parent at the school who joined the Board in March 2016 as a Friends' Association Nominee.  Amelia is a former partner of Christchurch Law Firm Saunders & Co and has over 20 years’ experience in commercial law.  She has also undertaken a Legal Counsel role for a large residential construction company.  Amelia currently provides legal and business advice to a select group of private clients and is a Director of a property investment and development company.  Amelia has two children attending Cathedral Grammar School, Jack in the Boys' Prep School and Eloise in Junior School.
